Charlie Brown Christmas

"REAL FAITH"  I love the children's classic A Charlie Brown Christmas. My reason: Charlie Brown (like many of us) is searching for the true meaning of Christmas. In his frustration he yells out the question, "Isn't there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about" After a moment of silence his friend Linus says, "Sure Charlie Brown, I know what Christmas is about." Linus then walks to the middle of the school stage and says "Lights please" and then from memory recites: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eff0cqYefYY

Luke 2:8-14

"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, good will toward men."

There is a push by some to remove Christ from "Christ"mas and replace it with Happy Holidays.  They hope to diminish Christmas and its true meaning.   I never grow tired of watching Linus and his bold and direct proclamation,  "born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord." Good work Linus you are right, Jesus is the reason for the season.
